Silver stacking ring class Saturday 3 October at 10.00am

Welcome to silver jewellery making classes at Clare Hawley Jewellery. Whether you’re interested in crafting delicate rings, detailed earrings, or statement necklaces, our silver jewellery classes offer something for everyone. Unleash your creativity, learn new skills, and create timeless pieces to keep or give away as very personal gifts.

You will design your own piece of jewellery giving you a chance to get those creative juices flowing. You will cut it, pattern it, solder and polish the final item.

In this jewellery class, I would want to introduce you to five basic techniques that will give you a good basic knowledge of the rudiments of silver and gold smithing.

  1. Measuring and marking – making templates and judging the best use of materials.
  2. Cutting – using a piercing saw, guillotine, tap and dies
  3. Forming – using pliers, hammers and mandrels to form and shape work
  4. Soldering – silver soldering (also learning about how metals react under heat)
  5. Polishing – getting your work to a high standard finish using emery paper and polishing mops.

There will be other students on the class too and it is a really fun class to do. Everything you make will be to a high standard and something you can be proud of. Whether you’re a beginner eager to learn the basics or have tried silversmithing before and looking to refine your skills, our classes cater to all levels of expertise.

I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and expertise providing personalised guidance tailored to your skill level, ensuring an enriching learning experience. Each class is limited to small numbers ensuring you have all the personal attention you need. All classes include the silver you need to make your project.
