The Living World celebrates the beauty of Britain’s flora and fauna, from wildflowers and ancient trees to much-loved garden birds and woodland creatures. Every piece begins with a moment spent outdoors in some of the beautiful places I where I have lived and worked. A walk through the countryside, a changing season or a quiet encounter with nature. Designed and handcrafted in my Dorset workshop using recycled sterling silver, these collections capture the wildlife and landscapes that continue to inspire my work every day
There are few sights that capture the feeling of a British summer quite like a meadow sprinkled with daisies or the flash of a dragonfly skimming across still water. These familiar moments have inspired the Daisy & Dragonfly Collection – jewellery that celebrates the simple beauty of our countryside and the quiet joy of spending time in nature.
Robins have long held a special place in British hearts. Whether they’re the first bird to appear while gardening, a familiar visitor to the bird table, or a welcome sight on a winter walk, they have become an enduring symbol of the British countryside. Rather than creating an ornithologically perfect study, I’ve chosen a more stylised interpretation that captures the robin’s unmistakable character and cheerful presence.
Before they become delicate clocks carrying wishes on the breeze, dandelions brighten verges, gardens and meadows with their cheerful golden flowers. For many of us, they hold treasured childhood memories of making wishes and watching the tiny seeds drift away on the wind. The Dandelion Collection celebrates the beauty, nostalgia and quiet magic of this much-loved wildflower, transforming a familiar sight into jewellery to treasure for years to come.
Wherever I’ve lived, squirrels seem to have been part of the landscape. In Scotland, spotting a red squirrel was always a treat – a fleeting glimpse of one of Britain’s most treasured native mammals. Here in Dorset, the garden belongs to a family of wonderfully cheeky grey squirrels who never fail to make us smile, while just off our coast on Brownsea Island, red squirrels continue to thrive in one of the few places they’re protected. This collection is my celebration of these endlessly entertaining woodland characters and the joy they bring to anyone who pauses to watch them.
When the buttercups appear, it feels as though summer has arrived. Their bright golden flowers scatter across meadows like tiny jewels, catching the light and transforming ordinary grass into something extraordinary. That fleeting beauty inspired the Buttercup Collection, where individually hand-sawn copper flowers are carefully layered onto textured sterling silver, capturing the warmth, colour and simple joy of one of Britain’s best-loved wildflowers.
Few sights signal the arrival of spring quite like the first swallow sweeping across the sky. Every year I look forward to their return and still mark that first sighting in my diary, knowing these tiny birds have completed one of nature’s most remarkable migrations from Africa. Today, swallows nest around my Dorset studio, where they spend the summer raising their young before beginning the long journey south once more. The Flying Swallow Collection is my celebration of these elegant birds, whose annual return reminds us that the seasons are always turning and that home is worth travelling for.
Every collection has a story, and this one begins with a stag called Buster. He first appeared in my garden after what looked like a particularly eventful rutting season, sporting just one antler and a healthy appetite for potatoes. What started as an attempt to keep him away from the chicken feed, soon became a daily ritual of morning potatoes, and before long Buster had earned his own jewellery collection. The Wandering Deer Collection celebrates Britain’s magnificent red deer and those rare moments when wildlife stops feeling distant and becomes part of everyday life.
There is something wonderfully timeless about a cottage garden in summer. Flowers tumble over old walls, bees busily gather pollen and dragonflies shimmer in the sunshine, filling the garden with life and movement. The Country Garden Collection celebrates these everyday moments, bringing together the flowers, insects and quiet joys that make our gardens such special places. Fungi are so magical. They appear almost overnight, carpeting woodland floors, peeping from moss-covered logs and transforming familiar walks into treasure hunts. My own fascination began when my other half introduced me to mushroom foraging, opening my eyes to a hidden world I had previously walked straight past. Since then I’ve found myself looking more closely, noticing the extraordinary beauty of fungi in all their shapes and colours. This collection celebrates that sense of discovery, drawing inspiration from Britain’s woodland fungi, autumn walks and the folklore that has long surrounded these mysterious inhabitants of the forest.
